Yes, thankfully! I was doing it during the mid-1970's long before computers came into the picture. Who knew such improvements would be made. :-) My supervisor said I was the only female in the Carolinas doing this line of work at that time. Back then it was thought that women could not do it because of the way our brains work. My supervisor had tested me and saw I had the ability. So he trained me on the job. I was a pioneer :-) Nowadays it is known that some females do have this ability. We have come a long way.

John Wills replied:

Paved the way for women in the engineering field, nice! It's still very rare to see a women in engineering, maybe two, possibly 3 out of 50..

I started with ink and mylar, templates, parallel slide, all that junk, lol but it wasn't long before it was phased out in favor of CAD, thankfully!

Very cool! I used to do technical illustration (by hand) many years ago. I can appreciate! :-)

your technical skills are unbelievable....very precise..

John Wills replied:

Thanks Denise! I spent 15 years as a technical design engineer using CAD software, so I'm used to technical drawings. :)
